Meet the Founder of Loom Light Legal
The road to Loom Light Legal was not a straight one. Its founder grew up in Queens and now practices in the Cooperstown area. His path to law was shaped by New York City neighborhoods, rural communities, work in different trades and professions, and time living abroad. Law came later, carrying those years with it.
His legal experience spans both private practice and government service. While in law school, he worked in the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office under a student practice order. His private practice work includes family and matrimonial law, estate planning including Medicaid planning. Most recently, he served as an Assistant County Attorney for Otsego County, representing the Department of Social Services in matters involving children and families. He has seen legal disputes from the conference room, the government office, and the courtroom—and has seen what remains after the papers are filed and the appearances are over.
That experience taught him to begin by listening. A divorce is not only a set of claims and deadlines. An estate plan is not merely a collection of documents. A criminal charge reaches beyond the caption of a case. Each enters a life already in progress, with its own history, obligations, fears, and limits.
He is at ease speaking with people and direct about what he thinks. He looks first for the resolution that best serves the client, not the one that produces the most conflict or expense. He negotiates readily, litigates persuasively when necessary, and keeps the client informed about both the case and its cost. He also believes technology should make legal work more efficient and accessible—not less personal. Loom Light Legal uses modern tools to reduce unnecessary expense, work efficiently, and leave more time for the judgment and attention each client’s matter requires.
Loom Light Legal represents clients in family law, divorce, estate planning, criminal defense, and pet law. It is a solo practice by design: the lawyer a client hires is the lawyer who learns the facts, answers the questions, and stands beside the client when the matter must be decided.
Away from the office, he enjoys fishing and the outdoors, and spending time with his goldendoodle, Fozzie.
